AMERICAN BIRKEBEINER 2011

To support a friend in one of the most challenging ski marathons in the world was such a privilege!

Never static... let the roller coaster ride begin.

Temps were unusually low. 8 out of 10 racers were covered in frostbite. The experience of the race was far from pleasurable. The feeling of anxiously waiting to see and know you were alright Sarah is something I will never forget.

God blesses our life with precious gifts, you are one of them!

I felt every bit of your magnificent triumph...

You can achieve anything Sarah! Being able to live is such a gift. I will always be at your side to share it with you!

I sure do love you Sarah Lynn!

Soo Proud...

Watching you Mea and the self confidence you posses makes me so proud of the girl you have become. You wanted to challenge yourself. I tried talking you into the 1k and you were adamant you were big enough to do the 3k. We arrived to the start with over a thousand eager kids. Not knowing anyone you put on your ski's and were ready to race! I ran along the course watching you get in and out of the tracks passing with competitive ease, tucking down each hill with beautiful form, hearing you cheer when you rounded the corner and saw the finish line, seeing your rosie cheeks and BIG smile when they placed the medal around you neck, hearing you tell me you feel really proud! Mama will never forget this feeling... I am sooo proud of you Mea May! I love you!

BARNE OR BUST!

Henry was so excited to do the 1k! He had a change of heart once I left him with daddy and went with Mea to the 3k start. Next year Henry, mama will be with you every step of the way! Love you my sweet boy!
